Determinations of Eligibility
If you're uncertain if your property would qualify for historic nomination, we can work with you to assess whether your property meets local, state, or National Register criteria of significance and historic integrity. A Determination of Eligibility is often the first step in the nomination process.
To determine if your property is eligible for nomination, Convergence Historical Consulting provides the following services:
Evaluation of resources against State and National Register criteria,
Collection of initial information and photographs to document historic eligibility,
Assessment of historic significance and physical integrity, and
Preparation of documentation that may support future nominations or regulatory reviews.
Local, State, and National Register Nominations
Convergence Historical Consulting specializes in nominating historic properties and districts for designations in local registers, state registers, and the National Register of Historic Places; we'll partner with you to carefully develop and document the architectural, historical, and cultural significance of your property or district for the nomination.
To nominate your property or district, Convergence Historical Consulting provides the following services:
Field documentation, including photography and geographical mapping (as needed),
Archival research and development of historic contexts through primary and secondary research,
Preparation of complete nomination packages meeting State and National Park Service standards,
Coordination with relevant State historic preservation offices and staff throughout the review process, and
Preparation of documentation that may support future nominations or regulatory reviews.
Historic Resource Surveys
If you need general information about the history or architecture of a location or multiple buildings within a defined area, Convergence Historical Consulting can partner with you to perform a historic resource survey. This type of survey provides a foundation for preservation planning, compliance, and community engagement.
Historic resource survey services include the following:
Field survey and photographic documentation of historic resources,
Community outreach to gather relevant information and perspectives from community stakeholders,
Archival and contextual research to support resource evaluation and determinations of eligibility,
Preparation of survey forms and reports in accordance with State standards.
